Title Barton Hill Drive, Minster: Post-excavation Assessment Report
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2002

Abstract/Summary

The excavation broadly confirmed the findings of the evaluation (see Heritage 2001/91). The area of the site identified as a possible Late Bronze Age/Early iron Age farmstead remained unexcavated, preserved in situ. Two other areas produced concentrations of features interpreted as a possible late bronze age-early iron age enclosure and a small quantity of pits and postholes. A second phase of activity was represented by a number of possible Anglo-Saxon sunken feature buildings, although the dating material in them was all prehistoric. A scatter of Roman finds were recorded along with a number of medieval features.
