Monument record TR 03 NW 139 - Area of probable later prehistoric land-use and settlement, Cheeseman's Green Area 4 (south and north)

Summary

Archaeological work from 2004 to 2016 across the Cheeseman's Green area found evidence of fields, enclosures and possible trackways. These could not be dated but are probably broadly contemporary with other later prehistoric field systems in the area. The features were accompanied by an early bronze age cremation, ditches and gullies from the late bronze age to early Romano-British periods, probable late bronze age / Romano-British round houses and granary structures, pits and cremation burials.
