Full Description

A series of features dated to the Medieval period were discovered during an excavation that took place over a wide area ahead of road works at junction 2 of the A2/A282. A number of archaeological features were uncovered dating from the neolithic to modern (world war two) eras. In area D (excavation areas to the east of the M25, below the A2 ) a possible enclosure, a trackway, ditches, two gullies and several pits and postholes were uncovered and interpreted as being Medieval in date via the pottery recovered from said features.
