From The National Monuments Record:

Site of railway station, built as both a passenger and commercial terminus. In 1925 an extension was built from the East Kent Light Railway at Eastry to Sandwich Road, and this was extended to Richborough in August 1928 for both coal exports and as a passenger line. The Richborough extension failed and was entirely closed to passengers in November 1928, although it continued to serve mineral traffic.
