Monument record TR 36 SW 194 - RAF Salvage Yard, Richborough Port

Summary

A salvage yard built as part of Richborough Port, a major WWI port serving Allied troops on the Western Front. A salvage operation was run from the port in the immediate post-WWI period, lasting into the early 1920s. The facility appears to have been removed by WWII as, by this date, the area had become occupied by elements of the WWII anti-invasion coastal crust defences.
