Monument record TR 36 SW 188 - Richborough Salvage Dump

Summary

A WWI salvage dump, part of Richborough Port which was a major port serving Allied troops on the Western Front. The salvage dump was served by a fan of tramways bringing in materials landed at the train ferry dock. The salvage operation continued into the early 1920s after which the facility was closed and decommissioned. It appears to have been removed by WWII.
