Monument record TR 36 SW 404 - Iron age field system discovered during the East Kent Access Route excavations (2009-2011)

Summary

During the East Kent Access Route excavations (2009-2011) a number of ditches and gullies defined a field system in zone 26. The enclosures and trackways were dated to the iron age by pottery finds (possibly extending into the Roman period) and the complex is thought to be a continuation of the settlement and field system associated with the large middle iron age trapezoidal enclosure in zone 13.
