Monument record TR 03 NW 151 - Probable late Iron Age / early Romano-British occupation, Cheeseman's Green

Summary

Excavations at Cheeseman's Green from 2004 to 2016 found a number of features dated by pottery to the late Iron Age / early Romano-British period. The features consisted of boundary ditches, gullies, post holes, hearths and pits although no clear structures could be identified. Several features could not be dated and may relate to either the late Iron Age / early Roman activity or perhaps to an earlier phase. These included a wide trackway running ENE-WSW, field boundaries, ditches and a cremation.
